Default My first attempt at paper piecing

This is the first I've tried. I think I'm going to be doing more paper piecing. My son asked me for a Mariners Compass Wall Hanging for his new apartment in Korea. He will be leaving in a few weeks to teach English for a year. It will be his first apartment by himself. Luckily the school provides the housing. He picked out the fabrics, wanted sepia tones. The center is not perfect but a lot better than it would have been if I had tried just piecing it.

Well done! Paper piecing works well for complex patterns.
