Ten days ago I didn't know this forum existed, and I had never heard of a D9P! I had a lot of layer cake squares from a guild swap, so I cut them into 5" squares, read some of the tutorials and got this quilt top together. It's for my GGD's 8th birthday. I took it to my LQS and she had never seen one either. She asked me to teach a class in July. I took home some fat quarters to make a small sample to display. I made it in two different versions..showing what effect value has on quilts.

Pretty! Isn't it amazing what a difference it is after you cut/resew the block? Like night and day! It works up so fast too!

Happy quilt is right! I love it. What beautiful, bright fabrics and they all work so well together because, I think of the unifying effect of the darker green you used for the middle squares.

Great job on all of them. How exciting that you will now get to teach others, too. Your sample really show the effect of the different values.
