I made my first disappearing 9 patch for a Christmas gift. My son brought his girlfriend for Christmas and I wanted to get her something special. She absolutely loved it! No worries that she will take good care of it. There is cuddly blue flannel on the back. I tried machine quilting it, and won't try that again. The pattern is easy, and my beginner sewer adult daughter even wants to try one now.

She loves sailing.

It is a snuggle size, about a twin size.

I had to take this photo so I could remember the placement later.

Very nice! I like the way the directional fabric worked out with the pattern. With the flannel backing, it would be cozy!

Nice. The sail boats are awesome.
I'm also doing a d9p for a baby quilt...but my directional fabric is being deliberately rotated so that the baby doesn't have to alway have the blankey the "right" direction. :D

What a wonderful snuggly quilt! What more does one need on a cold winter's night?
