This is the quilt that I just finished for my DGD’s graduation. It started out as a Hoop Sisters BOM quilt and is the “Embroidablock™ of the Month TNT Hoopsisters™.com 2009.” It was to be 60” square with 64 blocks, but my DGD wanted it to fit her X-long twin bed at college. She also requested it be made in her favorite colors of tiffany blue, black, bright yellow, and red, with a white background. So I enlarged it to 140 blocks & this is the final result. I quilted it using my 830 Bernina & the jumbo hoop. All the blocks are QAYG using a cotton batting. Then I made a sandwich with a cotton backing, added a low loft poly batting & SITD. This was truly a labor of love, as it took me 350 hours to complete. I am going to try to put the pictures in from start to finish so the quilt itself will show the story. Many of the pictures will show the blocks pinned & not sewn on, or sewn together, but not pressed. (Bear with me, as this is my first time posting pictures and I will probably have to edit as I go.) Thanks for taking time out of your busy lives to look at my handiwork.
