Default My First Quilt!

This is a picture of my first entire quilt. It's a Ryan McKenna pattern, and I ended up with 3 months to make it since it was for my Aunt in Australia. We both ended up going to my nieces wedding in New Zealand, so I hand carried to her.
I just had the best time making it and quilting it myself. I did want her to be able to use it, so I prewashed the fabric and blanket stitched around all the pieces besides fusing them. She is an owl collector and and cried when I gave it to her. She knows I just started to quilt, so that was encouraging! I am disabled and can only sit at the machine for short periods of time, but I read all I can and belong to the local Guild. I am looking forward to becoming proficient at home machine quilting,. I wish all the practicing I do in my head counted for experience lol!

My helper is at the end!!

You have made an amazing quilt...it's beautiful! Very nice fabrics (I love McKenna Ryan fabrics!) and your quilting is perfect for the quilt. Hard to believe this is your first quilt.....thank you for posting this!

My daughter is an Owl lover so she would love this quilt. Such nice work for a first quilt. Keep it up. Your helper is just too small but so pretty.
