Here is my tube quilt which I started many months ago and life and health issues kind of got in the way. So, its all done, the binding is horrid, I am thinking I will go back to hand stitching the backs of my binding. twice now when I did a decorative stitch it has gone all wavy and I tried really hard not to pull on it as I was stitching. Any hints on this??

Absolutely gorgeous quilt! I always hand stitch the back of the binding -- it was the only cure for that problem that works every time. I am going to experiment with the old fashioned method of binding of pulling the backing over to the front (backing is cut 1.25" bigger than the front and folded in half). That's when I will try the decorative stitch on the binding (it would be sewn on the front and you'd have more control).

I love the colors and quilting of your quilt! SIGH!

I always hand stitch my binding, also. Trying to machine stitch both top & bottom (either separately or simultaneously) has always been a disaster for me, so I don't even fool with it anymore. Besides, I enjoy hand stitching the binding to the back; it's relaxing and does not even require my mind to be in the same room with me.

Nice quilt, Susy!
