I had to hem some pants for my mom and decided to "play" with my fabric when I finished them. She has two cats so I found a little square with a kitten on it. Just built around that to make her a potholder. She came by a little while ago to pick up her pants and when I gave her the potholder she said it was "too pretty" to use.

Lovely gift and should be used as it was meant (smile). You did a great job. Thank you for sharing.

My mom would say the same thing and would be right. It can hang nicely as a decoration until that first fateful time she can't reach/find her "useful" potholder and has to grab this one. After the first time, it's not "too cute or pretty" any longer!
