Well, I have to tell you all about my surprise.....this week I decided that I needed to find a long arm quilter closer to my home...well, I searched the internet - and found one that is 1 hours drive from here...I made an appointment and went to visit today - to bring my next quilt to be done....and WOW!!!! I wasn't expecting to find a workshop with absolutely EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!! I don't have a photo of the fabric section of her workshop - I've never seen that many wide width goods in a quilt shop..it was crazy......I need to take more photos......and the prices are great.....What a surprise....so you know I had to shop.........Just had to share that with everyone....is there anyone else that has found a long arm quilter like that.....just curious.......
Of course it is more tough on the wallet - but still, I was born to shop :-)

Now that is my kind of store. It looks like they are very well stocked. I hate going to shops and not a whole lot going on. Congratulations on finding a great shop.

WOW..I rushed to scroll back up to find out just where that marvelous place is...DARN, it's in Canada. Way too far to go shopping.

Sure wish I could find a place near me like that.

I asked one of our lovely Mennonite ladies who donate blood for us when they did their hand quilting. She said that since kids were out of school in the summer time they stayed home most of the time, but when school was on, they could get away from the house and do their paid quilting for the church.

Sounds good to me, they really do keep tabs on their kids. We love them all, nice people. We asked if our wearing pants to set up the inside blood drawing area bothered them, they were cool with it. Said that everything was covered that needed it, they were used to the ways of the worldly people.

(I LOVE being thought of as "worldly", me, an old lady with my colored jeans and matching color blood bank tee shirt and tight, lace up boots (helps with a previously badly broken ankle).

that's great. We don't have anything like that around us...we live in the boonies. Our local quilting store is an hour away and the store doesn't have anything near what that one does. Congrats on your finding that store!!!
