This was my very first quilt I actually completed and wasn't embarrassed to give to someone. I made this for my sister. It was a traumatic year for them and they were celebrating their 20th wedding annerversary. The company were they worked for many years had closed and they had to either move to the plant that had openings or be out of a job. So they moved from MO to FL.

Each of the Sunbonets were specific to her family from left to right top to bottom:

1st one is a pregnant Sunbonnet. I stuffed her little belly and added a lullaby push botton music maker. The date and clock are set for the day and time my nephew was born.
2nd...sunbonnet baking cakes -sis decorated wedding cakes in her spare time
3rd-they had a well loved dog named Lady-

2nd row-
When my nephew was still little, he and my sister went fishing in their canoe and actually caught a fish. They didn't know what to do with it, so they brought it home and filled up the bathtub with water until Dad came home to fix it for cooking.

the middle block commemerates their wedding, I had some satin and felt scraps so made some dressy sunbonnets. And had the wedding march push botton music doohicky under the heart.

bottom left-bil is very handy-he makes a lot of cool stuff for their house, including wonderful gazebos and decks.
and the last one was kind of funny-I was almost done when I got the news they were being transferred to Texas-so I had to add Texas to the block to include everywhere they had lived

I've never seen anything more thoughtful and loving!! You did a beautiful job of capturing precious moments in your sister's life. What a beautiful quilt and even more beautiful sentiments. Congrats on a job well done--I'm sure your sister was overwelmed!

The most wonderful thing about this quilt is how personal it is. What thought you put into it How it will be treasure because of the memories it brings back along with the thoughtfullness of the maker
