Yay! That beauty landed at a good home. I'm sure you will love it. The gal that sold it to you did that quilt a favor.

WOW!! It never ceases to amaze me when people can so carelessly get rid of such treasures :-( But happily it has a new loving home where it can be appreciated for all of it's beauty and hard work! I went to a local flea market today and came across two old quilts but they wanted a huge amount of money for them and one was so dry rot I was afraid to pick it up and the other one was all hand pieced and hand quilted and the guy had it laying on the dirt with a whole bunch of items piled on top of it :-(

Someday she will regret giving that up. Maybe it was a gift from HIS side.

At least it ended up with someone who will appreciate it and not as a dog blanket or drop cloth. I often see quilts used as covers on a load of furniture being moved. It's a beautiful quilt and I'm glad you rescued it.

What a great find but I feel some anger over the woman just getting rid of it. So nice though it is now in good hands. She could have had the dog use it. Heard of that too. Blehhhhh! Making a Cal King for DS and his wife to be. I already told him if they no longer like that quilt I will gladly take/buy it back. I do not anticipate that but you hear the weirdest stories. His fiancees mother is also a quilter so hopefully she would know better.

What a lovely quilt!! I can't help thinking there must be a sad story there to have led to her to part with it, but I hope it brings lots of happiness to you!
