Needless to say, I am very proud of her. She used 3 'orphan blocks and then added what she wanted to finish it. She did all the sewing [except for the border] using my Juki and she is really learning to control her speed. She has discovered she really likes to sew and make 'things'.

Isn't it a wonderful feeling when you see those smiles?! My DGD wrote me a wonderful note to thank me for helping her sew her purse. And the kicker at the end of the note was how much she enjoyed spending time with me. I almost cried. Now if her mother felt the same way about me...

My Sydney, 8 years old would rather climb trees, swim, race her bike up and down the street, and do head stands! LOL She did ask me awhile back if she could sew, and Lord!, my heart raced, happy happy dance!! I was amazed at the control she had of the fabric, and how straight she sewed without any lines, but it only lasted about 10 minutes, and she was heading out the door. Well, maybe come winter, if she isnt too busy throwing snowballs at her brother!!LOL
