my granddaughter's sewing "room"
#1
My grandaughter, Avianna, loves to sew. She has helped with some quilts and even likes designing her own clothes.
She has 2 brothers and 3 sisters, so there is not alot of spare room at her house. But, recently Mom & Dad designed a space just for her!
It is off of Mom's office, and is really just a tiny entrance to the attic. But, they really made it workable!
In the pics, you can see some dresses hanging to the right - this is the door to the attic.
Mom & Dad made a fold down table, with a cord hole (so she can plug in her machine).
On the wall opposite the door, they hung a shelving unit.
Pictured is a small quilt (about 12" square), she made from scraps.
Her sister was inspired then made a purse by hand sewing.

I'm glad her parents made her a space to work. If its in your DNA to sew there is no stopping you! I used to stay up all night sewing, still do sometimes. I'm sure she will sew beautiful things in her new room.

Avianna is adorable ans so is her sewing cubbie. I just love how she hand sewed her quilt! Most children today would never take the time to make such a lovely piece. What a blessing to have her share in your delight as a quilter. She looks so sweet! :-D Her future is bright, and I hope you continue to post pix of her as she progresses in her talents! :-D
