This was advertised on Craigslist for $25. The man selling it was young, probably, 30 ish. He said it didn't work because the needle wouldn't go up or down. When I went to get it, he asked me if I want to plug it in and I said no. I just really wanted the motor and foot pedal and asked him if he would take $20 for it. Well, I got it home and started examining it; took the face plate off and it had a birds nest of thread all underneath and the wheel wouldn't move. I just cut all the threads away and cleaned and oiled everything. It runs like a top! Has beautiful stitch also. I was so excited when I got it. It's a Spartan by Singer and made in Great Britian. It really doesn't have any major scratches, or white spots on it like the pictures show. I love it!!

It actually runs better than my Janome, Singer, and Kenmore but doesn't beat my Designer I. I think I am going to use it for piecing and the D1 for embroidering.
