I would like to share with you the doll quilt I made for my August Doll Quilt Swap partner, Jean D. I found out that she likes red, so I wanted to make her something using red, but not in the "usual" way. I found the red print and then pulled the other colors from it. At first I wasn't too sure of the colors, but as the quilt went together they melded better and better. I think the ruffle edging was the perfect finishing touch. Now, I love this quilt! My husband does too. He asked if we could keep it! LOL

What a beautiful piece! I love what you did with the back too. Those colors turned out perfectly.

That is a beautiful quilt! The ruffled border adds that extra touch of softness that makes me want to cuddle with it right away. Thank you for sharing.

Well, it was for a swap so I guess the moral of the story is don't make pretty quilts that you committed to giving away? Nah - just can't do that. What fun would that be? lol I love the idea that my beautiful little quilt is being used by someone across the U.S. from me.

It is a decorative stitch I did using my 1956 Singer 403.
