Default Birthday Wall Quilt to go with Upcoming Christmas Quilt

It's been slow-going on this quilt. I just can't seem to get into this one, but DGD LOVES purple, so purple it IS! lol There are three outer borders (not showing in this photo) in varying widths, narrow to wider, so will post an updated photo whenever I manage to get it quilted!

Anyway, I finally got the entire top put together today, along with finishing up the letter "K" (for Keesha) wall quilt that measures about 12" square. The quilt is for her upcoming Christmas gift and the letter "K" is for her sweet 16 birthday in about three weeks. They grow up SO fast!

I drew the letter "K" from one I saw on the internet, then paper-pieced it, but the rest was my own idea. I can see where I can definitely make improvements to what I did, but I think it turned out ok for the first one I've tried.

Thanks for looking!

Very pretty. Does this pattern have a name or did you just wing it? I am sure that she will love it. BrendaK

Yes, just winged it all the way. That seems to be my strong point for some reason. lol My next project will be using a pattern...well, maybe.

I know what you mean about having a hard time getting into a quilt...been there, done that. But I give you kudos for pushing through it! I love the layout of the quilt and the colors and I think the "K" is splendid. I think she'll love both. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful, it looks like the tube quilt pattern shown on Missouri Quilt Company- on utube.
