Default OBW maybe??

I picked up this fabric cheap with the possibility of a OBW in mind. I think you an see why but I am not sure if even a OBW can save it. What do you all think?

I think it will depend on how big the triangles are cut. Smaller will probably be better, but I think it will work. You have to wonder what the designer was thinking.

Yes! it'll work as a OBW.
I like the kaleido you've got in the picture. Move your mirror around and you'll get a good idea as to what else is in store. The teal background and neutrals of the birds will make it very interesting.

As for the size of the triangles, I wouldn't go too small, in order to get a good kaleido effect going. The bigger you go, the more identifiable parts .... as you see with the loon heads around the outer edge in the reflection pictured.
Usually the size of the print determines the triangle size. It really depends on what look you like/want!

Good Luck!! I'm looking forward to following your progress on this one!

I think it would be great! In my past experience it seems that 3.75 is one of the most standard sizes for the triangles. Be sure to post when you have some blocks done!

I think there is too much solid space and you'll end up with a huge amount of the quilt being blue/turquoise. My 2cents based on my own experiences with the pattern.

I bought that fabric when we traveled east a few years ago, and I didn't get mine cheap ... I made my sister a knitting bag out of some of it...Ill be watching to see what you come up with, maybe it'll inspire me to bring it out & get to work on it.
