Awesome quilt, love the barn also. That would make me a nice sewing studio.

sheriR....mine is only 24" x 24"....just bought a piece of particle(?) board that was pre-cut at HD, put several coats of white primer on. I sketched out the block on graph paper, then measured and drew the design on the board with a pencil. Used painter's tape to block off one section at a time, and tried to be very patient to let each coat of paint dry before ripping off the tape to do the next section! I just used acrylic craft paint. Will seal it in the fall after it has weathered and toned down a bit. If you google "barn quilts", there are tons of tutorials on making full-sized quilts. Most, I believe, are done in 4 sections. Have fun!

I think I can do that. Thanks so much for the info. I just painted the egg box lids for the coop hubby made for his new babies, maybe I can use some of that paint. (red, white & blue)

Lovely!
Is that your quilting studio? Mine is not as fancy, but similar and I want to put one on the end of mine as well.

That's my hubby's chicken coop with the egg boxes I painted. Id like to paint a quilt like Jill did out of the red, white and blue colors. She made hers so cute!! I appreciate her sharing her info!

I want to do a barn quilt for my big detached garage with steeple roof. Do they have an Oregon Star? Is that a stupid question? Where would I look?
