Default For My Mom's Surprise 80th Birthday Party

I made this last year. Started it in July, and it took me 5 weeks to put together, using mostly stash material, except for the outside borders. It was LAQ'd by a local lady here in the area. It was featured in 2011 in the McCall's Quilting magazine. It's called America the Beautiful, and I put the words to this in the outside border. It was given to my Mom on her 80th birthday on April 7th, so I can now post a picture of the quilt. I had sew much fun making this for her in her green tones. Enjoy.

Beautiful work (and lots of it!). It should be displayed for everyone to see. I'm sure your Mom will be showing it off to all her friends.

What a great 80th birthday gift! Even though I quilt, I would love to have a quilt given to me that someone else made.

I have to clear one thing up. My quilt was not featured in the McCalls Quilting magazine. The pattern for thisquilt was in the McCalls Quilting magazine. Parts of the overall quilt came out every two months. So you would sew those featured blocks up, then wait for the next issue.
