Cool Not a Chinese Lantern Quilt finished

So this is funny - I wanted to make a Chinese Lantern pattern using Courthouse Steps. Well it really DOES pay to read the instructions which I did not do! However, the blocks were looking interesting so i kept going. I really liked the way this came out. What I did do was FMQ'd a Chinese Lantern pattern on all the rows so even if the pattern wasn't right, at least the quilting was.

BUT it was a nice surprise to see it come out the way it did! I am going to make another one but THIS time i will read first!

That is beautiful. I like the way it turned out, too.

I really like this quilt. It may not be what the pattern intended, but does it matter when the results are so beautiful?

I love teh way it turned out - and although I love Chinese Lanterns, I do not see a resemblance to one in the quilt- what a difference in the way it turned out!!! But it is lovely - make sure you post the pic of your Chinese Lantern when you get it finished! Once again, this is lovely!!!!

Very nice even without reading. When in doubt, read the directions first...lol.

It looks really neat. It just needs a new name and it's an original. What about Solar Lights? We're all about green energy allternatives now, right?

I love everything about it ... especially how you did the sashing rows with the extra piecings ... the blocks are way better than plain courthouse steps. I think you're a designer now!
