Ok doing this for my youngest daugher (yes I have 5 kids - there are plenty of girls in this house to make quilts for).

it is not as long as I want - so I am thinking either **these blocks are just laid out and I haven't trimmed them yet**:

1. Make 2 or 3 more rows of the exact same block; or

2. Make 4 more rows of 4 but invert the pattern so the brown is on the outside and the turquoise and pink are the 'stars'....

thoughts? I want this big enough to fit on her twin bed....

**I saw these blocks in one of the quilt magazines and thought it would be so hard...and the instructions really made it hard but I used the missouri star quilt co method for making the split colored squares and it was super super easy. **

I really love the colors in this quilt. It is very pretty. I don't know but those colors on that block inverted would be awesome. Marilyn

That is what I was thinking - I really do love the colors in this one - but if I invert just not sure how I would lay it all out...so I guess if I've decided to make more and invert then I'llneed suggestions on how to lay them all out!

I think inverting the stars would be fine, but why don't you ask your daughter also!

Love it!! I think inverting the colors for 4 rows and putting them at the top and bottom would look great! It would add a lot of interest to the design.

could be way late.... but, invert them and do enough blocks to go all the way around!

Invert them, I agree. Missouri Star
has a lot of good instructional videos for short cuts or simplification. They are free on you tube, very helpful.
