Default My Official Second Quilt - for me!

This is a quilt I just completed - and it is very special to me.

A wonderful woman who was a charter member of the quilt group I have been part of provided most of the material for this quilt. She died January of 2011, but her last 4 -6 months she brought in a lot of her stash and allowed all of us to pick what we wanted. I received a lot of oriental themed fabric that I am working with now.

But the prize for me was a very large piece of the black on beige toile that I used in this quilt. I had to add 4 more fabrics to get this made, but I wanted to feature the toile. It took me quite a while to find a pattern that would do that and after much trial and some errors, this was what I finally came up with (thanks to an inspiration quilt in one of the quilt magazines from last year!) I have to get some other pictures off my camera, but the back is a golden yellow print with butterflies, subtle but I think it's gorgeous.

Cher, your long search to find just the right fabric and pattern really paid off. You hit paydirt and put together a gorgeous quilt. I like everything about it. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful quilt. You really found the right pattern and additional fabrics to showcase that fabric. Great work!
