Default My Organized Crumbs

I pieced this top a couple of years ago, having fun with all the little scraps that I couldn't throw away. Finally got it quilted last month. It's a large double bed size.

I couldn't make myself be totally improvisational so I found myself making up blocks, making some recognizable blocks, throwing in some applique, and so on. So much fun and no rules or sizes to worry about. I trimmed them all to 6.5" then used a setting from one of Bonnie Hunter's books and ended up with this quilt. It weighs a ton...all those seam allowances! Now I have just as many crumbs to use up again.

Sorry the picture is a little fuzzy. Friend took with her phone at a local quilt show last week.

Your quilt is SO attractive and good inspiration for us all to "use it up". :-)

I love how you separated the smaller blocks with the tan and then separated them further with the blue, beautiful quilt !

Very nice! "Organized Crumbs" is a good name for it. I have lots of "crumbs" cuz I won't throw anything useful out, either. I've got "background" pieces- don't quite know what to use them for...yet.... in shades of tans/ creams, purples/ lilacs, and blues. Your choices for the sashing, cornerstones, and border make this a beautiful quilt!
