Several reasons for not wanting another. We want to travel more now that we are both retired, and they are not happy when you leave them. Ours wouldn't eat while we were gone, it was so hard on her. I may talk him into it eventually.

No, I had bought a similar bed for her, many years ago. She always preferred a different bed (a previous dog's old bed), so I ended up sending the "pocket" bed to my friend (the one, for whom I made the new bed). Phoebe only seems to burrow, if it means being covered on or beside a person. Otherwise, she'll scratch out a "nest" and snuggle into that. Guess she doesn't know she's a dachshund(?)!
