I only do the raw edge applique by hand with the button hole stitch. I am trying to do some on the machine too now.

It is absolutely the easiest wreath to make and only takes a day to make it, very easy pattern. I got it free online a few years ago.

Mine is just buttonhole applique. I never could master needle turn.
