The kaleidoscope quilt was created for a challenge - had to symbolize 'spring' and had to be our own design. I created the kaleidoscope blocks and frames from photos my DH took - most are from ice and snow on pine trees and weeds, some are from flower pictures. Then I inserted pictures of babies (again my DH work).
The denim shirt jackets were created one day when I had a couple of orphan blocks, and I realized that my stuff is on a bed or on the wall, but no body ever sees it, so I created a line of denim shirt jackets

Dee Dee,
try www.villagequiltshoppe.com
they have lots of free patterns, and bunches of really inexpensive patterns.
I know they have several snowflake patterns. just do a search for them.
They also have a quilt pattern that has different snowflakes in each block.
I've used their patterns before, and they are accurate and well written.
If you don't want to pay for snowflake patterns, go to www.about.com/quilt. Thousands of free block and quilt patterns - and do a search on snowflake
