I really love these hand embrodered redwork pictures I framed and put into the spare/quilting table room.. These are hand embroidered. They were mostly finished when I found them at a secpnd hand store. t I finished up about a quarter of the "duty" one..

I have a few hand embrodered hangings and pillow shams I am currently working on too. Blue snowmen and Sleeping lady red ones. Also a turtle day of the week one for a green and pink baby quilt. I will try and take pics to post later.

This is the cleaning and laundry day>>> Yuck.

    Red

What a lucky girl you are to have found these treasures & to have finished them off too  - any idea where they originated from?

I wish I did. These were found about 10 years ago. I also found a wonderful table scarf that had redwork of what I think was a favorite book illistrations of hers. If I ever get into the cedar chest I will show you girls that. It is really something to see. She did a great job on them. I had to do quite a bit of work to get some stains out. But, it is so sweet, very old timey on linen.

I have collected the hand embroderd items and old aprons for many many years. I just love getting them out to play with it when I am in a down mood. It cheers me up. I also collected old hankies, but, many of them I gave to my next door neighbor for a quilt she is making.

Thank You girls .... These are quite large pictures 32x26, I think.

I enjoy them very much. Kind of funny sayings, don't you think?

Wow--those are great!!! I too like the way you framed them.

I love antique linens too. When we were stationed in Germany I bought quite a few items at the German flea markets. It was fun to search for unusual things. Most of mine are old bed linens--like pillow shams with battenburg lace--or kitchen linens. They are fun to take out and just look at!!
