most fun I have had in years ! Found this after google.com.
found this at site:

The chickens are made from a pattern brought to the U.S. by a nationally known and beloved quilter who died a few years ago named Doreen Speckman. She called them Norwegian pin cushions. Her daughter Megan still sells the pattern -- chickenpattern.freewebspace.com
fun first project from Log Cabin design and wonderful little gifts!! Made several but never kept one of my own ! I have left over material, can't wait to finish my baby quilts and use the left overs

I'm going to have to try making that little chicken pin cushion...it looks like a square that has been folded across the middle and sewn on the pointy sides. I'll give it a try. Looks like maybe a 10 inch block.

:?: Has anyone purchased this pattern from Megan lately? I sent a check several weeks ago and haven't heard anything. I sent a follow-up e-mail to the address she has listed at this link and it was returned undeliverable. Wondering if they're no longer available? I really really want this pattern.

These were one of the free patterns at my quilt retreat in April and they were a HUGE hit! One lady spent most of her time making them and make a very large family of chickens - it was fun to watch (I didn't make them although I wish now that I had!). Great job!!
