Yes, it's a hoosier. We had in our kitchen when we were first married and then when we moved here, it was in the garage for awhile. I brought it in and painted and stenciled for my room. I just cleaned the room, it's not always this orderly. I found a picture on line of valances done with strips of fabric. I did not hem them. I just cut them and knoted them over the rods. The closet in this room has shelves and is crammed full of stuff. I need to clean it out. I spend a lot of time here. Thanks for the nice comments.

What a neat and orderly room. Love that Hoosier. What a great idea for it. I always wanted one, but had no place in the kitchen. Never thought of the sewing room.

I bought the mat. It's a June Tailor Cushioned Quilter's Square and Blocker. I've had it for a long time. I don't remember where I got it. I would guess JoAnn's.

Valance is adorable. Nice room. Always wanted a Hoosier but hubby didnt. I think they are the neatest things with the built in's.

I have cut fabric just to see how it works. I haven't made anything with fabric yet. It would be great for applique.
