Here a few pics of my sewing room, which is also the laundry room.
I have an ironing table, which I love. However, next time I will make it at least 45 inches wide to accomodate the width of fabric. I have lots of storage space under it, and a rod to hand things on so they stay nicely pressed.
I also have sewing and cutting table, which I just love. My husband installed the slat wall for me to hang my stuff on, and he got me the halogen lights so that I can see what I am doing. I also have a little pull out cupboard with an ironing surface for smaller things like my piecing and paper piecing. It sure is nice not to have to get up all the time.
I also have a little cubby under the stairs, which used to be all mine but is mostly my nine year old daughter's.
I just love my space, though I wish I had more natural light, especially during the dreary days of winter.
I just love seeing all of your sewing rooms; I get inspired by your creative use of space.

I've never posted it before. I wish the words were right side up, but the quilt won't fit there the other way. Another case of not planning ahead, and just forging ahead in excitement!

What a lovely area you have. So organized and neat too! I'm sure you will create beautiful things there! Get sewing!

I am sorry I missed this thread--found it several pages in today.

Your quilt room is wonderful!! I seriously considered combining my quilt room and laundry room. Such an efficient use of space and your iron is right there for your quilt fabric and your clothes (!! Who irons clothes any more????)

I am so jealous of you ladies that have sewing rooms. Some day when the kids are grown I will, but they are 10 and 12, so not anytime soon

The true sign of a quilter- multiple machines!

You make the most of your space- I really like your ironing table. I'm thinking of making one too. I like the idea of 45" wide. I'm glad you said that.

I always like looking at everyone's rooms- I try to see what works for them and hope to incorporate it into my room someday. I'm still trying to edge out my son's trophies and toys (he's 23 btw). Don't want anyone thinking I play with remote control cars. :)

Thank you for your kind comments, ladies. It really is my special place. My family knows that when I am in there sewing, and listening to Stewart McLean on the Vinyl Cafe on Sundays, it's like i'm not even home. No knocking on the door, no asking any questions that begin with "Mom, where is ......?" It is my haven! Even if they don't hear the machines going, they know I might be just looking at my fabric, and fondling it.
