my shopping trip at Fields fabric Friday

I dropped DH off at the Air Zoo. He had a great afternoon and so did I. I leisurely looked at (almost) everything in the store. I looked through pattern books and splurged on 2 quik-sew patterns. Then I chose several knit fabrics for future shirts for myself.
It was hard to choose which quilt fabrics to buy. I bought enough to back the quilt I'm making for my son, several batik pieces, some plain white and some white on white.

Amy expertly cut and fold my fabric. You can never have too much white quilt cotton.

The Fields in Grand Rapids near my daughter's house closed. I miss when it go to visit. Another daughter's wedding dress fabrics came from there. I like their extensive selection of special occasion fabrics and their coupons. I paid $40 a yard for $80 a yard fabric. It was only 36 inches wide which made for some interesting cutting.
How did you manage to chose only a few batiks with so many available? What fun!

Glad you had a great time and found fabrics you wanted. When I lived in Michigan, I shopped at the Fields in Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids (44th Street). Always found much more than was on my list! :-D

Field's does have a site you can visit & shop:
http://www.fieldsfabrics.com Their prices are a bit higher than Joanns, but the women there are very helpful!
