Our son was deployed to Iraq right after Christmas, so my wife thought we should get the family to write messages on a patriotic quilt, using the white stripes of the flag. It took a while, but all contibuted and wrote messages from the heart and suggested quotes that meant something. This is what it came out to be.

Such a keepsake & patriotic. Will you mail it to him soon? You did a great job of making the quilt & quilting it.

It was mailed about 10 days ago. He should get it this weekend or Monday! A friend did the final quilting and she did an excellent job!

What a wonderful, special quilt!!! My daughter returned in September from a year in Iraq. I sent over a lap size quilt that she had also use while in Afghanistan 2 years before. She loved the quilt and had it on her bed, it made her feel so special and so much closer to home. She said that she cuddled in it every night even when it wasn't cold cause it was like a "hug" from home.
The quilt you have made surely is a special keepsake!!!
