My friend Maggie, was skimming through the pictures and she told me about the mug rug. They are cute. I wanted to make one just to check it out. Mine is not perfect but it was fun and easy to make!

Really a good way to use up scraps!!

They are really cute-but maybe a stupid question, what do you do with it-or how is it used??? Sounds like a really quick gift you can make (not expensive using scraps too) for co-workers, neighbors, or as a good craft bizzaar item.

I just had some scraps, and it measures, 5 1/2 x 6. My husband ripped out the insulation from some coveralls so I used some of that for the batting, then I cut a piece of fabric with the same measurement, and had some left over binding from a quilt I made and used it. I am going to make a few more, much neater though, I was in a hurry to make one. Since I am new to sewing... I get all excited LOL

You could tuck it into or around a travel mug and it would be one awesome gift.
