Last summer when Klue, Esq and Sandpat were discussing the Jane Stickle quilt I decided I NEEDED to make one, too. I started on Nov 17 (kept a block diary) and finished piecing the top with 2 borders on May 15. If I take out a month we were away plus Christmas week, thats less than 5 months start to finish. They were addicitve! I only pieced a few with the applique since I'm not an appliquer and the rest I machine pieced, no PP. I did substitute about 15 blocks with my Texana pieces and others with midget block at random. My favorite is the A&M logo (where my oldest grandson is studying thru the Seaman to Admiral program in the US Navy). Now the hard part of quilting it! I'm very open to suggestions as how to showcase the quilt with the quilting. I just got a LAQ but haven't developed any skills with it.

Very nice -- I love the Texas touch -- and a great way to bypass the techniques that you do not want to do!

The cathedral looking ones are pics of the back of the quilt as it was hanging in my garage doorway. When I saw it I dedided I had to have pics of the backside, also.

Love the personal touches in the middle of the top one  Great color choices also

I love the individuality you gave to this quilt -
    - the colors
    - the blocks that are "yours"
    - the very unique border - love those elongated diamonds that you used
