At the end of our vacation, we went to Georgia to visit relatives and so DH and SIL could go through MILs things and spread ashes (that never happened but that's another story). SIL and I went to Dragonfly Quilt Shop in Watkinsville (very nice shop and staff). I got some Univ of GA fabric for my nephew's Christmas gift. I did get to go through MIL's and DH grandmother's fabric and take whatever I wanted. The second and third photos are some of the things I got. There are 3 quilt tops and a whole bunch of squares. I suspect that DH's grandmother made them since she was the only one that quilted. Some of the fabrics are very thin so I'm not quite sure if I should put some sort of stabilizer on the backs before I quilt them (I do want to finish them). The colorful edging was hand tatted by DH's grandmother.

You'll have some very nice Heirloom quilts when they're finished!

OOH OOH OOH!!! You have a GREAT Treasure there in those blocks!!! No need to back the thin fabrics, just be careful when sewing them together, and then get it quilted and it should hold together fine.
