Default My Very First Ever Quilt

I've been lurking for quite a while now because I never made a quilt until now. This is for my new grandson. His room will be decorated with a library theme. My son and DIL both love to read so...I found a vintage cloth book and used each page for a block. The 2 blocks with the clouds at the top is the same material as the backing. What do you guys think? I had planned to quilt it myself since it's a baby quilt but after having 2 failed attempts (for various reasons) I have called a lady to save the day for me. I can't wait for it be completely finished!

Congrats! a superb first quilt and a forever family treasure. Any no. 2 quilt plans yet? Think you have successfully bitten by the quilt bug.

Thanks ladies! It turned out to be a work in progress. I didn't have a pattern, I created it myself so I learned quite a lot about measuring, etc. I had an orange/red color in there also but then the quilt was going to be too large so out it went. I'm pleased with the final result.

I think I have been bitten by the bug and my next project is going to include embroidery. My other DIL is American Indian decent and I found a really nice quilt with cool Indian embroidery designs. It will be a challenge but ...

For whatever reason I can't see it. I tried 'open' and I tried 'save to'

That is great. Book panels make great quilts.

My pic file is too large to upload here so I saved it as a .doc file which was my only other option. Sorry. If anyone has another solution please let me know.
