need border advise

this is a patriotic wall hanging I just decided to make today, which border.... the blue at the top or the plaid at the left

I'm leaning towards the blue, then red for binding

I've used this method several times now. Easy to do & I love the special touch it adds.

I think cowgirl is right on. That would look really great. The plaid by itself is definitely out and the blue is nice but doesn't really set your design off. I think the blue border, and red binding with a plaid faux piping would really make your star pop.
