Back from our trip time to add boarders. Would like to add several wide ones to make it fit our bed. Have 1/2 to 1 1/2 yards of most fabrics, could do a plain border than pieced or ? Thanks for your help

maybe dark brown first

if it were mine this is what i would do...depending how much fabric you have
i would add a small border of the very dark brown then a pieced border with all the fabrics from the bargello then another dark brown border then i would add the darker floral print...its beautiful

your quilt top looks great, but PLZ throw off those useless boarders and replace them with borders, would look a lot better and be an awful lot lighter

The dark brown border finishes the quilt and frames the bargello design. I would use only the dark brown.

YES!!!

Definitely the darkest brown to frame it up with the first narrow border.

How much do you need to add in length? width? Keep it simple and don't cause the eye to focus on the border, as you want it to be drawn only to the inner bargello. It could be as simple as just having one border.

I did one bargello similar to yours. I pused a 5 inch plain fabric for a border and then continued the bargello pattern on the edges to make it larger. Then bound it with the same as the plain border. Your quilt is lovely. Good job.

do you have a photo of it. I am thinking of adding a row or two to the sides of the bargello to make it bigger before I add the borders.
