I just think this is darling, we have our first grandbaby due in Juy and I have been looking at patterns to make a few baby quilts once we find out what gender of the baby will be. I would really like to make this one for a girl !!!

I think the yellow strip looks bigger than the others which I think are 2.5 inch.

I 'll bet that the strips are cut 2.5" wide. Figuring the layout is easy by counting the strips in each section. There are 7 strips in the upper right quadrant and five in the upper left, so if the strips are 2.5" wide the upper left quadrant is 10x14". There are 17 strips in the lower right quadrant, so the width is probably 34". That makes the lower left 34x10", which is the same as the quad above it. The yellow ribbon looks to be 4" wide (cut at 4.5") and the border appears to be about the same width as all of the strips or perhaps just a little narrower, perhaps 1.5", but you can make it whatever you want. I think that this quilt probably measures 46x56". You can adjust the measurements to suit your needs by adding or subtracting strips, or changing the width of the strips, the border, or even the yellow ribbon. Have fun!!

I think you are a mathematic with all your calculations and you are spot on!!

I just bookmarked this pattern...I have a jelly roll that is crying out to be used. This will look perfect with it. I think the 50" by 53" is a bit big for a crib...I want to say 40" X 50" would be oversized enough....But, we each have our own preferances....
