    I've decided to take the whole thing apart. Do away with the outside border. Make the squares oblong and then put the sashings back on. I want it more artisitic and it is just too "poorly planned" to me.

    The good thing- I'll take the border, cut it in half lengthwise and use it for binding. Then, I'll echo quilt the blocks and put a cable in the sashings.

    I like it better already. This is the first quilt I will take apart, I usually just deal with something I don't like.

    I love your quilt! I live in West Virginia, right in the middle of the coal fields. Would you please sell me the pattern for this. I've seen a few of the miner quilts but yours is the best by far.

    I like it! I would outline stitch the embroidered pictures and then find some FMQ designs over at Leah Days site and put a different one in each background. If you did it in dark thread and choose organic designs it would look like the walls of the mine. BUT Since you decided to change it and have decided on how to quilt it, good luck and make sure you post it when it's finished.
