They are both pretty but the first one is more pleasing to the eye.

Agree on the first one.
However, I was wondering how it would look if the 2 colors you matched up were the 2 purple, and the 2 orange, and the 2 blues....

I like the first one. It has more order to it, a definate plan.

I like #1. It had a contemporary theme to it. Quilt it in something mod such as circles to offset the squares.
