I'm just learning, so I was told my an ol' quilt teacher I met at Laundry mat lol, to do a 9 patch.
The plain color will go between blocks.
I actually have 3 rows done, but no pics as of yet.I'll post again
    as I get more done.

    2 squares.

Walmart has some decent fabric, the clerk told me alot of their $1'00 fabric is name brand but the color didn't come out right or the pattern wasn't quite right. I have gotten some beautiful stuff. I just bought some great blue yesterday for a dollar a yard. I can't afford Joann's and that is the only other place. I still have to travel 50 miles one way to get any fabric.

If you are in walmart a lot you will see a lot of quilters come in and they buy the fabric they like by the bolt. The white on white disappears really fAST. The 4 dollar walmart fabric is the quilt store 12 dollar. I buy 12 inch pieces and you can get two wallhanging for a dollar in fabric. I love skjirts in the summer and that dollar fabric is great. Every curtain in my house is made from walmart fabric........a lot of the dollar stuff is curtain and drapery fabric. I'm with you see you in wally world :D

I think that you are doing a wonderful job. It looks to me like all of your points match and that is a good thing. Keep up the good work.

Very pretty and sweet! Don't fret over Walmart. They have been getting good fabric in like from VIP, Quilters Choice and others. Just watch it on the dollar table. Some is so weak I think it is going to tear. Can't wait to see the quilt when you are finished. :D

Anymore I stick to the $2 ones. I buy 1/2 yard of a bunch of different one to give me a variety and build my stash. I may not use it today or tomorrow, but its there when I need it. See you all at Wally World... :)

I did buy me a BROTHER computerized sewing machine there that only lasted 3 yrs. The guy at Viking had a hard time fixing it. He said everything was bolted to Plastic. Now whether thats true or not, I don't know. But I sure loved that machine. I thought of buying another, but may a Kenmore from Sears will be better.? Sears also carries the Brother I got at WalMart. Heres a pic.... What do you all think? BROTHER OR KENMORE?
