I have a hand crank from Germany. It's wonderfully challenging to sew on but goes great once you get the hand of it. I heard somewhere that there's hand crank clubs that you have to use one when they get together to sew or you can't be in the club.

Btw: Your's a a BEAUTIFUL machine. Hang onto it.

I think I may. The crank turns so easily that you may have more control than one might think. It would be fun to piece a quilt with it just to say I did!
Oh, by the way, I am going to have to find out what kind of needle will fit it!

Probaby the 15X1 needles will fit. A lot of the older machines use those.

Do you know where it was made & what year. Very vintage looking & has an English look, in my opinion. I may be off on my guess, but it's very lovely.

Actually, I think it was made in Mexico! One of the decals says Mayo (spanish, I'm thinking) 18, 1904. It does look victorian, though.

Resurrecting a dead thread. One of the machines we bought today looks just like this one, down to the Mayo 18, 1904 stencil. Very cool looking small machine that weighs as much as a bigger one.
