The Block of the Month for my quilt guild has just started a new year. This time I decided I would participate by making two of each months blocks, so I will have 24 at the end of the year so I can make a full size quilt. Each month, if you bring your complete Block from the last meeting, you will recieve a piece of layer cake..(10 in square of fabric). If you make all 12, then you will have 12 pieces of layer cake to make a project.

Here are my two blocks of the first month..

I am hoping that you all will motivate me to keep it up to date...

Those look GREAT! You have done an awesome job. Good luck with this. I am sure you will have many cheerleaders on this board (and I will be the first for you) ;)

I love blue , so my first thought was to make all the blocks with the light blue background and different blues for the pattern..

but now I am thinking that I might still use the light blue background for all, but use different jewel tones for the blocks, like purple, teal, green, etc.. what do you think?

Opinions, please
