    Default new quilters

My two daughters and their first quilt... They came and spent the week with me and they each made this sampler quilt... They did a great job on this first quilt... I guess I did a pretty good job teaching them. Before they started on this sampler I had them do a very simple 12 inch block which they completed with stitch in the ditch and binding. They took their samplers home to complete their stitch in the ditch and binding... They are now talking about what they want to do as their next quilt... I was glad that I had them do a sampler because they were able to do flyinging geese, HST, QST , etc. When they got to the third block they proceeded without my direction and I thought WOW they are really doing good... When I went in to see what they were doing they had created HST out of the squares that they were suppose to make a 9 patch with... We got a good laugh out of that but I think it taught them not to forge ahead without reading directions or asking first... Fun was had by all...

They did great for this type of quilt. I think you were right in the sampler.
