Your nyb is a real beaut! Was it paper pieced? I've never heard of invisible machine appliqué before. Would you mind explaining the basics of how it's done?

edited to add that I used my handy dandy friend: Google! This is an interesting technique. I've only recently gotten into applique again and have been experimenting with different methods. Thanks!

Thank you ladies for all your lovely comments, bjchad, it is approximately 15" and I am thinking of making a cushion from it as I intend to make a larger size NYB for a wall hanging so these were my practise pieces seeing I have never made them before. Dawn is such a super teacher and her IMA, invisible machine applique is to useful, she showed us a quilt she is making using IMA on her mitred corners!

It's a bit difficult to explain IMA as it important to know how to set your machine, stitch length. tension etc. you really need the book so if you don't want to buy it could you loan it from a friend or library? I can't even show you a close up of the stitch as it is so fine, nigh on invisible it wouldn't photograph.

Yes it was Paper Pieced and for those know how to do here is a handy link.

I love doing it some people don't, it's all about choice and PP allows you to do finer picture type blocks. https://www.caroldoak.com/free-quilt-patterns.php here are some lovely PP patterns from the queen of PP. Top tip, DON'T buy expensive foundation paper cheapo copy typing paper is just as good and so SO much cheaper.

Why IMA on mitered corners? Is it like using invisible thread with a blind hem stitch? Or something new to learn....love it!
