I am a newbie and I haven't even started a quilt of any kind yet but I sure did hit the jackpot for fabric!
A co-worker's mom passed away a few months ago and she asked me if I'd like to go through her mom's "stash" of sewing and craft things and take anything I wanted, free!! Of course I said YES! :) This is what I got.

Bear fabric = 4 yards! The white fabric is a knit, good for baby undies or oneies. Dritz rotary cutter and satin binding.

Muslin and a triangle template.

In the back on the left is 3 pieces of flannel and some small scraps of cotton in the front pile. The two piles on the right are at least one yard. Some have 2 1/2 or more!

What a wonderful gift! Maybe you could make a mini quilt or small wallhanging as a thank you to your friend...a nice beginning to your quilting journey.
