Nice! I've seen that pattern and thought it would be a great quilt to make for my dad.... someday!

Very nice quilt and great idea to use flannel and plaids. It is a beautiful, but masculine quilt.

it takes 180 darks, 180 lights for a 106" quilt top.
then 6 rows of 30 blocks

gosh it was in a magazine probably in 2005-or 06 maybe-somewhere in there- when i'm home i can look it up and let you know which magazine- but it is a very very simple pattern-
you cut 3 1/2" x 9 1/2" rectangles- lights and darks-
put a dark right side up - place a light one right side down across an end- edges even-- stitch on the diagonal- trim the corner triangles- press toward the dark-
you wind up with 3 1/2"x 15 1/2" (blocks)
alternate ends as you lay them out- 30 across- stitch together into rows-
6 rows gives you a 106" square quilt.
takes
