Default No batting baby quilts, photos were requested

This is part of another thread. I posted in "Main" that my daughter is having our first grandchild soon and I pulled out her baby quilts from the cedar chest where they've been stored for @30 years so she can use them for her new daughter.
I noticed there was no batting and you told me it is common. they are called "summer quilts". You requested that I post pics of them.
My MIL and her daughter handmade these precious quilts. MIL is deceased and her daughter now has alzheimers. they are the two who encouraged me to quilt.
The pink one is "Tumbling Blocks" I may have it upside down.

Those are just precious! The prairie points on the pink really set it off. The rocking horse is a cute design. Thanks for posting these.

My mother, and great aunt made these type of quilts as well. I still have mine from when I was a baby........priceless to me, as I am sure they are for your daughter. How wonderful that you saved them for her to use now. Which part of St. Louis if I may ask? Merry Christmas!

What a wonderful thing to have passed down through the generations. I found the pattern for the rocking horse quilt in an old magazine I found in a thrift shop this spring. I changed it a little. the photo is a bit off as I took a photo of a photo in my quilt journal.

I hope your two wonderful quilts will continue to be handed down in your family.

Beautiful Baby Quilts, in this area you will need batting for winter use. Good for all involved.
