Thanks all for your ideas! I knew I could count with the QB friends. Like the idea of cutting the back. I forgot about it. I will audition the dark purple sashing as sugested. Still thinking about the center being monochromatic. I guess I'll applique some more and see more of it before I sew the center ; just in case.
