Oh, Poppycock

Oh, Poppycock
I love poppies and found this fabulous material years ago and it has been waiting for me to find the perfect pattern for it
The pattern is from Quilters Newsletter Magazine (QNM), May, 1989/ #212, pg 30. Yes, I also collect old quilting magazines and am glad I do!
The original pattern is by Nancy Dudley of Silverton, Oregon. Her title is Celtic Squares.
This pattern is old enough to be written for templates and not more modern methods of assembly. After I converted the pattern to paper peicing it is so easy to put together. It uses the partial seam method of assembly and I love the way it is coming together. Hope you like it too.Mine is titled: Oh, Poppycock

When I put the first four blocks together, I noticed the poppies in the center were cut up and look ugly, (upper left four blocks in the above picture). I made sure as I cut the rest of the corner blocks they were cut to avoid this. It did mean doing some fussy cutting and it worked well, imho.
This is just the beginning. There will be a total of 30 blocks and a few borders. Thanks for looking.
peace
